MAYA
Maya Levy is a multi-hyphenated creative and music industry professional who’s worked in the entertainment industry since 2016 specializing in event production, radio promotions, publishing/sync licensing, producer/artist management, PR, artist development, engineering and most acutely A&R.
With a devotion to finding and developing music, an abundant mindset and a love for all things music, art, equity, equality, intersectional freedom, justice, diversity and inclusion, Maya frequented a number of record labels and start ups before pioneering a company of her own.
Despite having had the privilege of working at 2 out of the 3 major record labels in the world and being the first Black woman in history to be in the Pop/Rock A&R department at Atlantic records, Maya knew it was time to pave a new lane.
While every company and person she’s worked for has brought a breadth of knowledge and experience to her life, Maya knew she wanted to offer more to the artists and collaborators who crossed her path.
Providing accessibility to information and resources, developing artists, their music, and inspiring them to continue in the pursuit of their dreams is where her passion lies and she’s excited to do so with MEmusic.
ERIKA
Erika Harres is a dedicated music industry professional. her passion for music has been ingrained in her from a young age, and it shows in her extensive experience as a classically trained flutist and vocalist. Erika took her love for music to the next level by attending the most prestigious music business school in the country, Belmont University.
during her time at Belmont, Erika immersed herself in the music industry and became an expert in entrepreneurship, the inner workings of the industry, and artist management. she even organized a festival and worked as an A&R and artist management consultant for numerous artists in Nashville.
after graduation, Erika continued in the music industry as an A&R consultant, building a strong network of independent songwriters and producers. she provided creative direction and strategic insight for independent artist projects, helping them grow their social media presence and even pitching new artists to major label executives all before joining Maya in the pioneering of MEmusic.
as a woman of color in the music industry, Erika is acutely aware of the gatekeeping that often exists in the industry and the challenges that come with it. she is committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and reinvention in the music industry and hopes to break societal norms along the way
